Nassau County Ignition Interlock Device Attorneys
There are many serious penalties and consequences of a DUI: fines, jail time, even loss of license. One approach that courts are taking is to order offenders to have an ignition interlock device (IID) installed in their vehicles. The device requires that to start the car, the offender blow into the device to check blood level alcohol. This can be a significant burden and a very costly obligation for any defendant. At Grunwald & Seman, P.C., our attorneys are experienced in representing clients who have been charged with DUI/DWI.

New Interlocking Device Regulations
Currently, the law is changing to require that every DUI/DWI conviction results in ignition interlock device installation. The cost for the device can vary and is the responsibility of the defendant; however, it can be expensive. Most range between $400 and $800. In the majority of cases, defendants will be required to have the IID installed for at least six months. If you are facing a DUI/DWI now is the time to protect your rights.
Our legal team will take the following action on your behalf:
- Investigate the details of your arrest, review police reports, witness statements, and your account
- Determine whether officers had a right to pull you over and if they followed appropriate procedures during your arrest
- Review blood alcohol level tests and challenge any evidence illegally obtained
- Fight aggressively to see your charges dropped or your penalties reduced
